Room Renovation at Glenholme

We’ve been busy over the winter, as usual.

We initially planned a few minor modifications to room 5 but it quickly escalated into a much larger project.  In older buildings, you never know what you’ll find, and Julie’s enthusiasm for the wallpaper scraper led to a much bigger job than anticipated.

Our goal was to create more space for our guests and we believe the new changes will be enjoyable.

New Fire alarm system

We're thrilled to announce a significant upgrade to our fire alarm system! This extensive project, expertly handled by Dan Close, involved a complete overhaul across all five floors of our 200-year-old Georgian property. Over three weeks, Dan meticulously replaced every old fire cable with a state-of-the-art system.

During the renovations and work on the property, we took a sunny break. We went on extensive hikes in Spain, discovering incredible villages and indulging in the local culture and cuisine. We also had a great time diving into fantastic waterfalls in Gran Canaria and swimming in open waters.

Julie has eagerly awaited the warmer weather so she can spend time in the garden. It’s always a labour of love but she enjoys transforming it into a beautiful space for our lovely guests.  However, the stormy weather and strong winds have posed challenges, battering and damaging plants and flowers. Despite these setbacks, she managed to plant a stunning collection of spring flowers and fingers crossed they’ll all be in good condition for our guests.
